"Coffee" Short Fiction Contest!

April Sinclair, author of the critically acclaimed debut novel, "Coffee Will Make You Black", is conducting
her first Fiction Contest for adolescents (ages 12-17) in conjunction with the tenth anniversary celebration of
"Coffee Will Make You Black".
Through her travels across the country giving readings and book signings, April has encountered many youth who
aspire to become writers. The purpose of this contest is to encourage young people to pursue writing as a pleasurable
outlet.
All participants will receive a certificate signed by April Sinclair. Ten finalists will be honored at the Tenth
Anniversary Celebration and do not have to purchase a ticket. There will be additional prizes for three runner-ups
and the grand prize winner who will be chosen by April Sinclair. |

Submission Guidelines

| |
- There is no entry fee to enter the contest.
- Stories must be 500 words or less. The story may be typed (preferred) or legibly printed. Write about any topic
or genre. The story MUST be your original work.
- Entries will be judged based on style, originality and content. Please proofread your work!
- Please include on a separate sheet of paper, your full name, birth date, parents' name and email address, complete
home address and telephone number(s).
- The deadline for all entries to be RECEIVED is October 30, 2004. Submissions can be mailed to: Pure Onyx Productions
